But that doesn’t mean Melvin is just going to take any old offer that comes along. Oh no. He won’t play third, for example, just because Rockies or Dodgers or somebody BEGS HIM.

So what’s close to Memlo’s house? BALTIMORE ORIOLES man. Jeez does Blog have to tell you EVERYTHING? Also Team needs guy to stand at third and catch ground balls next year. So it’s perfect.
Yes, Melmo could catch grounders (unlike Mark Reynolds, who will lead the league in errors).
Can I just say this? The prospect of another Oriole season with Reynolds at third and nobody at 1st (and nobody who can pitch) makes this a very dismal off-season. I don’t care about the new hats or the new picnic area. There is no – repeat NO – evidence of any improvement at all. And with real (positive) movement in DC it seems that the owner is relegating Baltimore to permanent 2d class status.
Wish I could mount a counter argument but I can’t, really.
